OverviewSlovakia may have entered the Eurozone a year ago, but this hasn't shielded it from the economic pain being felt everywhere else in CEE. Its small size has in fact pushed it somewhat down the priority lists of multinational institutional investors. But the country still boasts a skilled labor force hungry for work and a supplier base in the automotive and electronics sectors capable of handling large new investments. The potential for economic growth, and for growth in its property markets, remains. But questions of future growth have taken a back seat to matters of survival. CEDES 2010 will take a hard look at the current plight of developers, for whom securing financing is now far more problematic than relatively simple planning issues. It will also provide insight into how companies are rebuilding their chances for growth, as the upturn when it comes will not favor the unprepared. Special attention will be paid to the retail sector, facility management and pragmatic solutions for distressed situations.
